Yesterday, this photo turned out wonderfully directly before moving locations, changing dresses and taking awful shots. I had the camera set and yet something wasn't working for the latter location. I will show you the photos that didn't turn out, and we will talk about how I set the camera improperly, why the photos weren't working and how to fix that. My name is Addie Lee (Lee is part of my first name!) and I was born in the southern part of New Jersey. I was born underwater because my parents are super cool and so that is why I am so drawn to swimming and the ocean. I am 5'4" and 30 years old. I am ecstatically in love with my husband and our dog and we live in Atlanta, GA. ⁣

A little over a year ago I started this account alongside a friend, @nataliamode , and I ended up wanting to turn it into a sustainable fashion account. Day 17 of the @dressing_dawn Style Goals #20in2020stylegoals challenge. Today's prompt is "I'd buy duplicates of". I am about to get my period and to be honest, it's kicking my ass. Some months it's easy and I feel great and others I feel exhausted and bloated and angry. Today, I feel the latter and so when my @shethinx sleep shorts arrived I knew I had fallen in love. Day 16 of the @dressing_dawn Style Goals #20in2020stylegoals challenge. Today's prompt is that we choose between classics and trendy styles. I honestly don't know where I was going with this dress for this category but I just got this dress at @buffaloexchange and simply couldn't wait to wear it. I literally put it on wet out of the washer for these photos. As far as trendy or classic does, I honestly like a mix of both. I don't tend to strive for trendy styles but every once and I while, something catches my eye and I simply must have it. I must seem like the most indecisive person ever since I don't think I have been able to pick one other the other during this whole challenge but that's me! ⁣

My tip for today is to propagate your plants! So many of the plants that people commonly have around their home (snake plants, spider plants, fiddle leaf figs, monsteras, philodendrons) can be propagated and turned into a second plant! Want to know how? Sanitize a pair of scissors, cut off a stem with a couple leaves and make sure there are nodules on the plants that require you have them, place the cutting into water and place it in the sun. In just a couple weeks you'll have roots and you can either continue letting it live in water which is what I often do, or you can plant it into a new pot and watch it grow! ⁣

Quick break from my regularly scheduled "easy" as I call them, photos to share this for Day 15 of the @dressing_dawn Style Goals #20in2020stylegoals challenge. Today's prompt is fashion or function. I choose both. I love fashion and lately I have been branching out a lot with what I wear but honestly there are a few hard lines that I don't want to cross anymore now that I'm 30. I will wear uncomfortable heels for the sake of fashion but you will no longer find me in uncomfortable pants. I always prefer wearing skirts and dresses due to their comfort so on my wish list for day 10 was more comfortable pants and then I found these babies!! Silky, comfy, elastic wasted, and so cute! ⁣

Sustainable tip for today is don't fall into the ads for sales and new "drops" of companies. Even if they're ethical, you can easily find second hand pieces either at the thrift store or online second hand! Whenever I see a beautiful drop from Sezane or Reformation, instead of pulling the trigger and buying right away, I will look in local thrift shops for similar items that inspire looks that I like from the new line. Does that make sense? Not everyone can afford ethical all the time or even at all, so this is a great way to lessen your impact on the environment even more and also save you lots of money!!⁣

Day 14 of the @dressing_dawn Style Goals #20in2020stylegoals challenge. Today's prompt is what is my favorite outerwear. I am a blazer convert. I was reluctant to blazers for most of my life. I could quite ever find one that could fit my 'wide for my frame' shoulders and also one that would be able to button without buckling at the chest. Since I switched to shopping from second hand stores and looking at vintage blazers, I have found my own personal love of blazers. They are the perfect laying piece. They are versatile, warm, stylish and can make an outfit. This blazer I found second hand at @jomarstores and it's @majeparis . I simply adore it, especially the bow that I tied at the back which you can see in my reel for today. ⁣

Sustainable tip for today is to find pieces that you like that are new and find them online secondhand! There are styles that are current for today that you might be tempted to buy from Zara or HM. Instead, ask the person who is wearing the pieces (regardless of if it's sustainable) and then search for it on @poshmark or search for something similar. I recently did this for a sheer puff sleeve blouse that I had been wanting. I found one from Zara that was second hand from last season and purchased it knowing that I wasn't supporting the company itself but instead someone who had worn this top enough times and was ready to swap it out for something different! You can search for specific items online second hand which makes the whole process to much easier! ⁣

Day 13 of the @dressing_dawn Style Goals #20in2020stylegoals challenge. Today's prompt is "I'd describe my style as". If I asked you, how would you describe my style? I couldn't answer the question if you paid me to. I wear such a vast variety of styles which is why I speak about having an uncapsule closet because I don't want to be in a box of one style. I like to wear a utilitarian jumpsuit one day and a dress and heels the next and a pair of jeans and a t-shirt the following. So when asked this, I wracked my brain and came up with 'sustainable'! I have a sustainable style in that I wear new clothes that are ethically made mixed with second hand current brands, all along with vintage pieces. ⁣

This outfit is the perfect mix if you ask me. I am wearing the ethically made Maidele Gown from @ttribeshop made from deadstock fabric. Under, I am wearing a second hand @urbanoutfitters bodycon dress that @nataliamode found for me. I paired this look with a vintage coach bag from @jomarstores and a pair of second hand @samedelman flats from @goodwillintl .⁣

Sustainable tip for the day is to reuse your jars. The jars that you get jam in, tomato puree, peanut butter can all be cleaned and reused. I often keep them and pack food in them for my lunches while I'm out. Or I put nuts in them and place them in my purse for a quick snack. Lastly, you can place your plant cuttings in water to propagate them to then replant! ⁣
