Hello! Welcome to my page.
I am so glad to have you here. My name is Addie Lee and I run a sustainable fashion instagram page under @addielee_hatfield. I started it back in 2019 and I am so glad that I did. It has been such a fun creative outlet for me to replace my old job (I used to be a cake decorator!). I try to focus on sustainable fashion for the most part but due to the fact that I live as sustainably as I can in all parts of my life, but sometimes other things blend in. I would love it if you would reach out to me and let me know what parts of my sustainable life would be interesting for you to see!
I live in Atlanta, GA with my husband, Rett, and our dog, Hatfield. We have been married since 2017 and adopted ‘Hat’ in 2018. We are from Philadelphia, but together have moved around to Washington, DC and Columbus, OH prior to moving here to Atlanta. We love to travel around the US together and cannot wait to explore the south some more. We have plans to visit Savannah, GA; Asheville, NC; Charleston, SC; Nashville, TN and so many more. Please reach out if you’re in the south and want to connect!
As for me, personally, I was born under water back in September of 1990. I grew up in a beautiful 200 year old farm house in South Jersey where I lived for the first 25 years of my life. We had 2 acres of land with tons of trees that I climbed and next door to us was a dairy farm where my cow friends lived. It was a wonderful way to grow up, made better by the fact that my grandparents lived in a separate house on the same property. I have a brother who is 5 1/2 years older than me who is less cool since he wasn’t born under water (ha!). My parents (brilliantly) brought us up as vegetarian and we have been ever since. I am left handed and I take great pride in that fact. I received an Associates Degree in Business Management and then went on to become a cake decorator/baker. I loved my job but unfortunately it is really hard on the body and my back couldn’t take it forever.
I met my husband at work back in 2014. He says it was love at first site for him but it took me a bit longer to be so sure ;-). When he first saw me, he walked back to his boss at the time and told him “I am going to marry that woman in the bakery department”, naturally his boss laughed at him. His boss was a groomsman in our wedding a couple years later! We had the most perfect, fun wedding with lawn games and I wore a Nicole Miller gown. Funny enough, my husband was pescatarian when I met him which worked out perfectly for serving vegetarian food at our wedding! We actually chose to serve breakfast food as our dinner and had donuts instead of a cake. We served the donuts on my collection of cake stands which was a fun touch for me.
Today, we live as sustainably as we can. We just moved to Atlanta, GA and you will all be following along with us as we explore the city more, furnish our apartment with sustainably sourced furniture and cook our delicious vegetarian meals! I can’t wait for what’s in store for the future!
